Fella & Argo
These two haflingers were added to Black Jack Farms in 2006. Fella came to us as a mare in foal; but was fully trained to ride and drive when we got her. She is the horse we put with the baby gypsies when they are being weaned from their mother, though is is very much the boss mare, she is also a loving second mother for the herd.
Argo was born in January 2007 and has become just as sweet as any of the gypsies. He is a gelding, being trained for riding and driving (eventually) and was the cover model for an issue of Ride! Magazine. Argo is also a great companion for the stallions.

Smokey Spirit (aka Danny DeVito)
This little guy brings alot of character to the ranch. We got him as a driving mini horse, and has turned out to be one of the best playmates for the new born foals. He's just the right size for the little ones to play with and Danny loves being the "stud" and protector of the babies. The photo shown is when we had him as a companion for Storm, now Danny thinks he has a couple of girlfriends to protect so we keep them in seperate pastures.

Llamas, Llamas, Llamas!!!
We love llamas!!! All the llamas in our herd came from Wild Oak Llamas in Grass Valley and they are all sweethearts. Pictured is Shameless Lace (Lacey) who is the petite llama and has been great for the kids to show. Our daughter, Ashley, has been quite involved in 4H and the local llama clubs and is the lead trainer for all the llamas here. Last year alone she received so many ribbons that we decorated our Christmas tree with them (after misplacing all the ornaments.) There's a total of 8 llamas here, and we think they are great to have around, especially if you would like a guard for your herd.

Ranch Dogs
What's a ranch without ranch dogs? These two are the best they come! Pee Wee and Meeka have been friends since 2007; Pee Wee coming from a designer dog breeder, and Meeka we adopted from a friend who couldn't keep her anymore. These guys are always at our side when we walk around the ranch and they even sleep with us in the barn when it's foaling season. Sometimes they think they are herding dogs too; but are put in check by the horses when they are done humoring them.
